The 5th laboratory of the Department of Mathematical Informatics at the University of Tokyo
invites applications for a fixed-term postdoctoral research fellow position in nonlinear optimization
under the supervision of Prof. Ching-pei Lee and Prof. Akiko Takeda.
Position Details
The position will begin on or after September 1, 2026 (negotiable). The initial contract runs
through the end of the fiscal year (March 31, 2027), and is renewable on an annual basis, up to
August 31, 2031.
Salary is competitive under University of Tokyo bylaws, based on qualifications and research
ability, and a commuting allowance is provided. Relocation expenses, including transportation (oneway flight ticket) and a distance-based relocation allowance, will be provided in accordance with the
university’s regulations.
Qualifications
A doctoral degree in a relevant field, completed by the time of assuming the position, with demonstrated research capability in nonlinear optimization through research outcomes.
(Japanese proficiency is not required, and work visa for non-Japanese applicants will be sponsored.)
