Postdoctoral Research Associate Opening – Evans Research Group
university of Wisconsin Madison.
USA
Details
The Evans research group is recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral research associate to
lead research in ultrafast electronic and magnetic phenomena using national-facility-scale
X-ray scattering resources such as free-electron lasers and synchrotron-radiation light
sources. The project leverages cutting-edge X-ray science developments, including methods
employing the time structure and coherence of modern light sources and provides the
opportunity to work in a vibrant academic environment in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin.
Recent examples of the group’s work include applications in ferroelectric and magnetic
complex oxides (doi.org/10.1002/advs.202522387 and doi.org/10.1126/sciadv.aba9351).
Qualifications:
Required:
• PhD in materials science or a related field.
• Strong interest in the subject matter and experience in disseminating scientific
results in writing and presentations.
Preferred:
• Demonstrated ability to lead scientific research projects, to mentor students and
other early career researchers, and to work in multidisciplinary collaborative teams.
• Experience in electronic materials and X-ray scattering methods.
• Direct experience in the use of national-facilities scale resources.
To Apply:
Please send Prof. Paul Evans (pgevans@wisc.edu) a brief cover letter or email, CV, and
