PhD Student. You will work on rigorous analysis of stochastic perturbations of fluid dynamic equations related to convection. Close interaction with other MPI MiS groups, especially "Applied Analysis" (László Székelyhidi) and "Pattern Formation, Energy Landscapes , and Scaling Laws" (Felix Otto) is encouraged and will enrich the research environment. The PhD project will be fully integrated in the "International Research School Mathematics in the Sciences (IMPRS)", which provides a structured graduate program, regular seminars, workshops, and a strong international community. Your Profile: A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field. Strong background in partial differential equations and stochastic analysis and a genuine interest in its applications to fluid dynamics or related areas. Excellent written and spoken English (German is not required). What we offer: Contract: 3-year fixed term position, 65 % of a TVöD E13 civil service salary.
